2.壬寅 癸卯     金泊金

·        Gold Foil

壬寅癸卯绝地存金，气尚柔弱，薄若缯缟，故曰“金泊金”。

Ren Yin, Gui Mao.......................Gold Foil

The gold existing in Jue (repose) position.

The Yin Yang Qi is still weak, thin as silk fabrics.

That’s why it is called gold foil.

《六十甲子纳音》剖折

寅卯为木旺之地，木旺则金赢，
Yin Mao as the prosperous ground of wood, wood is strong thus metal is  dead,
且金绝于寅，胎于卯，金既无力，故曰金箔金。
as metal is in Jue stage at yin, and Tai stage at mao, metal is without strength, thus known was metal foil.

提示：古代用金箔装饰屋宇，以显示金碧辉煌，
Note: The ancients use metal foil to decorate the rooms of their house, to show off the splendor of the house, to display its magnificence,
金箔来源于其他金，故遇金则有源，
Metal foil originates from other metals, thus meeting other metal will have a source,
遇屋上、城头之土则是大有作为之地，
Meeting Earth on the roof (Bing Xu, Ding Hai), or Rampant Earth (Wu Yin, Ji Mao) is where it can do very well,
命书上说，此金遇到城头土中的戊寅，就叫做〈昆山片玉〉，
in the classics, such metal meeting Wu Yin of the Rampart Earth, is known as “Jade in the Mountain of Kun Lun”,
金箔金中的癸卯遇到己卯，就叫做〈玉兔东升〉，都是贵命。

Gui Mao of Gold foil meeting Ji Mao is known as “Jade rabbit rising in the east”, all are noble.

《三命通会》壬寅，

自绝之金，

《三命通会》癸卯，

气散之金。

若见众火则丧气，惟水、土朝之则吉。

《五行要论》云：“壬寅、癸卯为虚薄之金，具仁柔义刚之德。秋冬刚健无凶，凶为吉兆。春夏则内凶外吉，吉乃先凶。入贵格则志节英明，带煞则凶暴不能终也。”

《三命纂局》云：癸卯、自胎之金；若逢丙寅、丁卯炉中之火不为鬼，以胎金炉中成器故也。

《三命通会》[壬寅癸卯金泊金]

金泊金者，润色杯盘，增光宫室，打薄须借乎别金，描彩必假乎人力。

Gold foil, polished cup, bring honor to the palace, due to being very thin needs assistance from other metal, the touch up of the color requires man power。

此金甚微，非木则无所依。

The gold is very meager, without wood then there is nothing the wood can rely on.

Wood

木以平地为上，有此不宜见火，有火主夭。

‘Wood on the plain’ is the best wood to meet with, but it is not suitable to see fire as it would imply premature death.

Fire

遇太阳为日间之显，二火相反，不宜同见。

The sun (‘Heavenly fire’ Wu Wu, Ji Wei) represent day, two fire are opposite, not good to meet both together.

’Heavenly fire’ is day fire and ‘fire from lamp’ is night fire.

山下、山头，有清水助之，亦吉。

 ‘Fire from mountain slope’ (Bing Shen, Ding You) and ‘fire from volcano’ (Jia Xu, Yi Hai), with the help of clear water is auspicious.

The ‘gold foil’ after washing with clear water needs to be dry from indirect sunlight.

惟忌炉火，就位相克，此金体薄，不能反源，定夭，限运同论。

It is not favourable to see ‘fire in the furnace’ (Bing Yin, Ding Mao), if the correct pillar is in place, they will control each other. Such metal is meager, it is unable to return to the source, and thus indicate premature dead. This is similar when meeting the pillar in the luck (LP & AP).

Water

井泉、涧下、天河水清，日时喜见，须月令有木方吉。

 ‘Spring well’, ‘condensed water’, ‘Celestial River’ are of clear water and are good to meet during day and hour pillar, but require month with wood direction to be auspicious.

The wood provides the base for the ‘gold foil’ to be applied.

溪流、大海水浊，见溪流主漂荡，见大海无木为基，主凶残。

 ‘Water of a great stream’ and ‘Ocean water’ are muddy.  ‘Great stream water’ represent drifting/wandering, meeting ‘ocean water’ without wood as foundation; implies inauspiciousness and disability.

‘Gold foil’ meeting such strong water without wood as a base will be washed off.

Metal

金遇剑锋、钗钏，可以装饰，有辅成造化之理，故喜见。

Among metal meeting ‘Sword Edge’ and ‘Ornament metal’, can be used for decorative purposes, so it is considered useful for assisting luck, thus it is favorable to meet.

The ‘gold foil’ will provide additional shine to the already forged metal.

砂、海、白蜡无益，有火济之亦吉，无则终凶。

 ‘Metal in the sand’, ‘Metal in the sea’, ‘White Wax gold’ are not beneficial, can be considered as auspicious only if fire is available, without fire is inauspicious.

Earth

城头、壁上二土有靠安身，城头多主寄人，壁上加木则贵，再遇灯火辉光照耀，主权贵。

 ‘Fortress earth’, ‘earth on wall’ can act as support to ‘gold foil’ to take shelter, many fortress earths implies reliance on others, ‘earth on wall’ with wood is considered noble, even more auspicious when accompanied by ‘lamp fire’ for luminance. 

Describing the use of ‘gold foil’ for decorating the ‘fortress earth and ‘earth on wall’. The wood provides structural framework for the earth. ‘lamp fire’ is placed on the wall for lighting.

Special considerations.

丙戊土中藏火，干支却不宜太炎，亦为贵格考《妙选》，

Bing Xu earth with fire hidden, HS and EB not suitable to be too hot, can be considered as noble chart,

金命而遇戊寅，昆山片玉格也；

Metal DM if meeting with Wu Yin (fortress earth) is very auspicious, it is the structure of Jade in Kun Mountain.

Jade in Kun Mountain represent earth producing metal. For ‘gold foil’ it is especially auspicious. The ‘gold foil’ can be applied on the wall for decoration and the earth producing and supporting the ‘gold foil’.

癸卯而遇己卯，玉兔东升格也，与前海金同。

Gui Mao meet Ji Mao ‘fortress earth’, is structure of Jade rabbit rising from the east, similar to the previous metal in the sea.

《李虚中命书》

壬寅地会义，乃藏用体柔之金，喜土资之以旺，财官不可太刚，若能应此，富贵始得久远。艮土包命，禄须贵旺。

    癸卯贵会源，乃财旺体弱之金，财命相乘，喜身在生旺之方，或得真官真气，无不配合，贵源莫不易而厚禄也。贵源多会，不在多逢。
