Geng metal 庚 金

庚金 - 滴天髓 – Gen metal - Di Tian Sui

Commentary by Ren Tiao Qiao.

庚金带煞，刚健为最。

Geng metal carrying sha, most robust/hard.

得水而清，得火而锐。

With water becomes clear, with fire becomes sharp.

土润则生，土干则脆。

Earth moist can produce, earth dry becomes brittle.

能赢甲兄，输于乙妹。

Can win Jia brother but lose to Yi sister.

原注：Original comment:

庚金乃天上之太白，带杀而刚健。

Geng metal represent the Tai Pai (white) from heaven, most robust/hard when carrying sha.

Comment: referring to metal 7 Killling. Most robust.

健而得水，则气流而清；

When strong obtained water, with the flowing Qi becomes clear;

刚而得火，则气纯而锐。

When hard obtained fire, with the pure Qi becomes sharp;

有水之土，能全其生；

Earth with moisture, can produce;

有火之土，能使其脆。

Earth with fire, makes it brittle;

甲木虽强，力足伐之；

Eventhough Jia wood is strong, it is able to cut it down;

乙木虽柔，合而反弱。

Eventhough Yi wood is weak, due to combination becomes weak.

任氏曰：Ren Tie Qiao comment:

庚乃秋天肃杀之气，刚健为最。

Geng which represent the sha Qi in Autumn, most robust/hard.

得水而清者，壬水也，壬水发生，引通刚杀之性，便觉淬厉晶莹。

With water becomes clear, Ren water, with Ren water can produce, through the hard sha capability, becomes sparkling and translucent from dipping in the water.

得火而锐者，丁火也，丁火阴柔，不与庚金为敌，良冶销熔，遂成剑戟，洪炉煅炼，时露锋砧。

Obtained fire which is sharp/focus, referring to Ding fire, Ding fire being gentle, does not becomes the enemy of Geng metal, suitable for smelting the metal, to forged to a strong sword, great furnace to thoughen, becomes pointed with time.

生于春夏，其气稍弱，遇丑辰之湿土则生，逢未戌之燥土则脆。

Born in spring, the Qi is weak, meeting Chen moist earth is able to produce, meeting Xu dry earth becomes brittle.

甲木正敌，力能伐之；与乙相合，转觉有情。

Jia wood is the real enemy, able to chop it;

Different with Yi wood, due to relationship/Qing.

乙非尽合庚而助暴，庚亦非尽合乙而反弱也，宜详辨之。

Yi wood does not help the violent nature through the combination, Geng does not becomes weal due to the combination, important to distinguish in detail.

Yin Month

寅月 用丙暖庚性，患土厚埋金，须甲疏泄。

火多用土，支成火局用壬。

Use Bing fire to warm the Geng personality, fire prosperous use earth, earthly branch fire frame formation (Fire San Hui) use Ren water.

Mao Month 卯月

庚金暗强，专用丁火，借甲引丁，用庚劈甲。无丁用丙。

Geng metal which is hidden is strong, concentrate on using Ding fire, borrow Jia wood to attract Ding fire, use Geng to diminish Jia wood. Without Ding use Bing fire.

Chen Month

辰月

顽金宜丁，旺土用甲，不用庚劈。

支火宜癸，干火宜壬。

To control the stubborn(strong) metal with Ding fire, with prosperous Earth use Jia wood (to loosen/diminish the earth), the power of Geng metal is not usable.

With fire in the EB use Gui water, with fire in the HS use Ren water.

Si Month

巳月

丙不熔金，惟喜壬制。次取戊土，丙火为佐。

支成金局，变弱为强，须用丁火。

Bing fire is not usable to smelt the metal, auspicious to have Ren water control. Next obtain Wu earth, Bing fire to assist. Earthly branch forms metal formation (metal San Hui), change weak become strong (when it becomes too strong, it changes to weak), must use Ding fire.

Wu Month 午月

专用壬水，癸次之，须支见庚辛为助。

无壬癸，用戊己泄火之气。

Concentrate on using Ren water, Gui water next, must have Geng Xin at EB to assist. Without Ren Gui, Wu Ji earth is usable to diminish the fire Qi/temperature.

Wei Month 未月

若支成土局，甲先丁后。

Wei earth month if EB forms earth formation (Ji Chou Liu He to earth), Jia wood is the most usable, Ding fire is the next usable element.

Shen month

申月

专用丁火，以甲引丁。

Concentrate on using Ding fire, use Jia wood to attract Ding fire. (Jia wood is usable to increase the strength of Ding fire)

You Month

酉月

用丁火煅金，兼用丙火调候。

Use Ding fire to smelt the metal, Bing and Ting fire can both be use to tune the Qi/temperature.

Xu Month

戌月

土厚先用甲疏，次用壬洗。

Xu earth month, earth thick first use Jia wood to loosen earth, next use Ren water to clean. (Jia wood to diminish/loosen the earth, Ren water to clean the metal)

Hai Month

亥月

水冷金寒爱丙丁，甲木辅丁。

Hai water month, water cold metal tremble loves Bing Ding fire, Jia wood to support Ding fire.

Zi Month

子月

仍取丁甲，次取丙火照暖，丙丁须临寅巳午未戌支，方为有力。一派金水，不入和暖之乡，孤贫。

Zi water month continue to collect Ding fire and Jia wood, next collect Bing fire for warmth, Bing Ding fire to face Yin Si Wu Wei Xu EB, then got power. One gang of metal water, not enter warmth village, lonely and poor.

(For Geng metal born in Zi month, only with good support of fire, from both the HS Bing & Ding and with support from the EB, Si Wu Wei Xu, can it be powerful. With metal and water, without having warm support, considered a low grade chart.)

Chou Month

丑月

仍须丁甲，次取丙火照暖，丙丁须临寅巳午未戌支，方为有力。一派金水，不入和暖之乡，孤贫。

Zi water month continue to collect Ding fire and Jia wood, next collect Bing fire for warmth, Bing Ding fire to face Yin Si Wu Wei Xu EB, then got power. One gang of metal water, not enter warmth village, lonely and poor.
