5arts.net is closed today.

It is quite a sad day for a lot of the members. I started receiving messages about the closure from various friends who were all a bit surprised today.
It has been the web site that I would check daily to see if there are any interesting discussions. It was also the place where I met (in cyber space but not in person) quite a few interesting characters.
Characters such as the late Leegiat, Rhizome, HelloKitty, Tiramisu, RedJoJo, RenZi, JiaHan, Cyril, Don Lim, Astro999, Jlim, Howard, David, etc.
At one time it was very active and there were a lot of discussions and also arguments. Some got banned and kicked out while many others were given warnings for not using capital letters properly or were spamming posting to get enough posts so as to view some of the postings.
There are many who tried to use the site to advertise their own web sites and services but it is frowned upon and whoever does that will be told very quickly not to do that or will be kicked out.
Members are also not encouraged to contact each other and personal emails in the posting will be removed very efficiently to protect members from con artists.
This is all before face book groups became very popular.
Nowadays a lot of the discussions are now in face book groups but 5arts.net is still as popular as ever. The members seem to be very different as well. A lot of people actually go there to ask questions on destiny, feng shui or anything regarding 5 arts although the participants have changed over the years. Lots of the old participants are no longer active and there are many new participants. It has a very active Malay/Indonesian sections which is quite unique.
With the closure of the sites, a lot of good information are no longer available to CM’s enthusiasts especially the translations but the most important aspect is the human contacts/interactions/exchanges that are now lost or no longer available.
A new 5arts.net site.
A few persons actually suggested to me for another similar sites to be put up to do the same sort of things. For people to discuss on 5arts.
It is a lot of work and there is no financial gains. I wonder if anyone would be willing to do that.
Anywhere if any of my friends from 5arts.net read this, just drop a line to say hello.
This is Borneo219.

Luckily I stopped posting my translations in there. Imagine hundred pages of translations lost in an instant! I hope you had your works saved elsewhere too!

Hi Borneo219 and trey (if you're still hanging around here)

So sad to hear that the "5arts.net" website is closed. Few hours ago, I visited there but at first thought that my internet connection went wrong again.

I went to trey's "treybazi" but found no info about it.

I just could have spared time and return to go serious about bazi but it turns out that I have lost another one good source of bazi knowledge within only few weeks.

Hope you two would not mind if I prefer to get stuck with your blogs and asks for somethings some times.

I am aware that the blogs are like your private place. So, I will try to put questions only on need-to-know basis.

This is decha_woo (a bazi newbie guy).....

Hi there, am wondering if any of you know meek personally. I really think there's a way to solve this. There are a few options. One is to convert to paid forum, another is to place ads to pay for hosting it. That is if cost is an issue. I am thinking if enough people talk to meek, we might be able to do something? my email is chicflair@hotmail.com. Please let me know if you are planning to do anything. Thank you very much!

Hi Trey,
Yes i have saved all my translations. In fact i have also saved a lot of your translations. Ha ha.
Hi decha_Woo,
You are welcome here to put whatever comment.
Hi chicflair,
I do not know Meek. I am not planning to do anything. Even though it is a site i visited almost every day to check on Bazi and Feng Shui discussions.

Hi BK,
That's nice. I hope Kitty saved her works and also petrapetra with his ZWDS translations as too. .

Hi Decha_Woo,
You are welcome to drop by anytime.

Hi Borneo219,
I just wanted to take a minute and say thank you to you and everyone else aside from the administrator or moderators that made fivearts.net the useful place it was, specially for newbies like me. I just became serious about my studies last month and I dedicated almost every day lately to search, read and study the information you guys posted, special the translations and I will always be forever grateful to you guys, the basis of what I know comes from you guys and the effort you put into the forum. My only regret is not being able to save some of the information that was available under the idea that the forum wasn't going anywhere. For now I will dedicate myself to learn to translate the classics since the information is all there, the more I followed each one of you guys I realized that as soon as you started translating your input on the forum improved greatly.
And will definetely continue keeping an eye on your posts here, since you are always keen to share deep insights of CM.
Again, thank you and so long. I guess what's saddens me the most is I didn't get to improve enough to participate in the case discussions with you guys. Anyways life is change and we shall continue. Once a door closes, if you look hard enough you will eventually find the new one that opened for you.

hey guys, chicflair is actually petrapetra.

I emailed Meek via Five Arts School's admin email, not sure if he received it. Hoping that the forum can be left as cached pages so we can at least reference it.

As for my ZWDS translation, I hope to continue to translate and share it with the community but don't know where to post it (aside from a personal blog).

I am also on WOFS forum but it's nowhere as active as Fivearts

It's a pity that 5arts.net was closed.
I remember the time when fs-portal was closed and I hope someone (as Meek after Freewill) opens new forum.
Bat the closing of 5arts is the serious damage cause this was the big mine of wisdom.

I just saw this memorial page/post on 5arts.net. =)

I'm still sad and mourning the loss but what can we do? Meek decided it was time to let go, and of the people he knows, no one was willing to take the forum. I just wish it wasn't so abrupt so some of us could copy some pages. There were so many treasures. Sniff sniff!

The day the forum closed, I found Borneo and Trey on facebook and one thing led to another, it turns out many of you are already friends. So I guess I will see some of you on Facebook. ;)

This is fivearts.net very recent member, gens mr. I lost lots of precious info, all my bookmarks had gone overnight. As a newbie in Bazi study, I feel sad and frustrated about that. How do we recover them? Someone should wikify the saved pages from fivearts.net and post it at blogger. Blogger is free right?

Hi I have been following your blog for some time and recently found your Facebook. Great work, a much needed resource.

Fivearts.net closing is a great lost for our community. I would have hoped it would have stayed open, just closed to new member and post.

Much thanks for you work (Big up Trey!), hope others will find time to blog their translations and notes and keep the Fivearts community alive.

.m.k.

Hi Borneo219,
5arts.net was a good channel for those newbies n expertises to share their views over bazi fenghsui etc.. esp for people like me. I used to visit the site whenever I was free. I received many helps from the expertises e.g. the leegait (always rmb), sis rhiz n others too. Of coz you too. Btw I m twinkle. Actually all thank to meek and other administrators help to maintain 5arts so well without any financial gain from us.. Do hope another similar site like them.

Best Regards
Twinky. =)

Hello Borneo,

I miss you all guys in fivearts. My only wish is to restore the website because its interactive, informative and the discussions re CM and metaphysics are free.

I only have a copy of some printed screen of some interesting topics especially the way you make the translation with reasonable threshold especially for a novice member like me.

Hopefully we can interact once again there and I miss you all guys.

Best regards,

Jmatalo :)

Hi everybody: Like all of you, I was shocked when I found out that Fivearts.net was closed. This was three days ago. Searching in the net I found a link for this blog and when I read it through, I was glad to find familiar handles like Kitty, Gautam, Rapanui and so on. I missed all the excitement that surely lead to the closing of the forum. Nevertheless, this diaspora is healthy, I think. I hope you guys remember me, Manty

Hi everyone! I'm Robin and finally, I found you guys! I really didn't understand what had happened to the the 5 Arts page - and I didn't know how to contact anyone. The site really pushed me to find teachers/classes here in Brazil. And I always found very interesting information there. I don't remember exactly who was writing articles about ZWDS on that site but thank you! I copied a lot of TonyTan information and somebody was translating a 459-page book which inspired me to go back to studying Chinese. I don't know very much but I would like to join up with you all again. Abraços.

Hi All,

First I would like to thank Fivearts for giving me opportunities to learn ZWDS and I Ching.

Without Fivearts I will never meet the enlightenment path of Buddhism.

I have to be able to upgrade my Saphora FS Calculator v8 (after a few corrections), but I still have a few questions about ZWDS.

So if you could help me with ZWDS questions, I would appreciate it.

Today Thursday 27th of March 2014 I will join the forum Fivearts.info through an ex-member Jellynut.

Maybe I will meet you there.
