Ten God - Eating God

 
食神 

十神心性

心性               Temperament

为人聪明精细,但较含蓄,不象伤官格的人锋芒毕露,禀性温和多情,气质清高,较有长远计划。
Smart and intelligent, but reserved, unlike hurting officer showing off personality, moderate natural disposition and romantic, noble temperament, possesses long term planning capabilities.

但理想过高,有时喜欢胡思乱想,与现实脱节,做事有耐心但时感疲劳,易患神经衰弱。
Idealist, likes to dream, unrealistic, can focus on work but tire easily, weak psychologically.

喜无拘无束,好美食,但不挑食。
Likes to be free, loves food but not fussy about food.
食神心性, 温文随和, 带人宽厚, 善良体贴, 但易流于虚伪, 缺乏是非, 反为迂腐懦弱.
Eating God personality, moderate and easy-going/amiable, generous and tolerant, but can also be hypocritical, inability to differentiate between right or wrong, could even be pedantic and cowardly.

Ding Fire 丁



丁(陰火):學八字,這本最好用

有禮貌,知禮敬長,疼惜晚輩,為人熱心喜照顧關懷別人,且熱心公益,外表沉穩,內心急躁,易樹敵,有第六感,直覺性強,能洞察人心,重視第一印象且會靜觀其變,但有個有趣的特點,看別人很準確,往往看不清楚自己。
Courteous, give respect to elders, tender loving care for younger generation, has a loving heart and likes to look after people, moreover enthusiastic in promoting public good, appears deeply calm but easily disturbed/irritated, easily create enemy, have 6 sense, feel strong in character, can see clearly other people feeling, treat first impression seriously but easy to change opinion, have an interesting character, good at analyzing others but can't see oneself clearly.

內心感情豐富且不善表達於言詞,善忌妒,人稱悶騷型,須注意心、血壓、小腸、眼睛等問題。
Plenty of ideas but not good in expressing them, jealous easily, boring character, must be careful of heart, blood pressure, small intestine and eye problem. 

丁火為陰火,燃燒自己照亮別人,很容易看到外界是非,像手電筒般的無心,就可以看到別人的事情,因此不想當是非人,卻容易捲入是非中,也因此容易洞察人心,特性是一旦翻臉就像翻書一樣,感覺敏銳,丁火記憶力強,與丙火不同的是,丙火為重點式記億,丁火則為細節式法。
Ding fire represent Yin fire, burn oneself to light others, very easy to see the bad things in this world, like unintentional torchlight, can see people’s feeling, dislike to be bad people, easy to get mixed up in issues, easy to see clearly inside others, special character is when turn face like turning pages of books, sharp sense, Ding fire has good memory, the difference with Bing fire, Bing fire focus on the big issues and Ding fire focus on the small issues.

其本身就像一盞明燈,為文明的象徵,屬火好恨故容易傷心,因其恨鐵不成鋼,要以水的心態來化解,屬火者要虛心並懂得沉澱自己為上策。
The person is like a bright lamp, representing civilized image, fire people easily get hurt, as a result not easy to be forge into steel, must use water nature to resolve the issue, fire people must be modest and knows how to settle issues amicably.

七、天干

Chapter 7 Heavenly Stem

滴天髓 - Di Tian Sui

五阳皆阳丙为最,五阴皆阴癸为至。

Bing is the extreme of the 5 Yangs, Gui is the extreme of the 5 Yins.
原注:Original comment:
甲、丙、戊、庚、壬为阳,独丙火秉阳之精,而为阳中之阳;
Jia, Bing, Wu, Geng, Ren as Yang. Only Bing fire is considered to have the essence of Yang and represent the extreme of Yang.
乙、丁、己、辛、癸为阴,独癸水秉阴之精,而为阴中之阴。
Yi, Ding, Ji, Xin, Gui as Yin. Only Gui water is considered the essence of Yin and represent the extreme of Yin.
任氏曰:Ren Tie Qiao comment:
丙乃纯阳之火,万物莫不由此而发,得此而敛;
Bing being the extreme of Yang of fire, where all living things develop from, obtained thus becomes restrained;
癸乃纯阴之水,万物莫不由此而生,得此而茂。
Gui being the extreme of Yin water, where all living things grow from, obtained thus becomes luxuriant.
阳极则阴生,故丙辛化水;
Extreme Yang give birth to Yin, so Bing Xin transform to water;
阴极则阳生,故戊癸化火。
Extreme Yin give birth to Yang, so Wu Gui transform to fire.
阴阳相济,万物有生生之妙。
The mixing of Yin and Yang is the wonderful way which give rise to the creation of all living things.

夫十干之气,
The Qi of the 10 HS,
以先天言之,固一原同出,
Early Heaven representation, undoubtedly originate from one source,
以后天言之,亦一气相包。
Late Heaven representation, one Qi circulating.

甲乙一木也,丙丁一火也,戊己一土也,庚辛一金也,壬癸一水也,
Jia Yi represent wood, Bing Ding represent fire, Wu Ji represent earth, Geng Xin represent metal, Ren Gui represent water,
即分别所用,
Different usage,
不过阳刚阴柔,
In terms of
Yang hard / firm / strong / just / barely / exactly / Solid,
Yin soft / flexible / supple / yielding / gentle / amiable,
阳健阴顺而已。
Yang leads and  Yin follows, thats all.

窃怪命家作歌为赋,比拟失伦,竟以
Destiny Masters created such poems, to go so far as to compare and match human relationship and order.

甲木为梁栋,乙木为花果;
Jia wood as ridge pole, Yi wood as plants;
丙作太阳,丁作灯烛;
Bing as the Sun, Ding as candle fire;
戊作城墙,己作田园;
Wu earth as fortress wall, Ji earth as soil in the field;
庚为顽铁,辛作珠玉;
Geng as heavy metal, Xin as jewelry;
壬为江河,癸为雨露。
Ren as rivers, Gui as dew drops,

相沿已久,牢不可破,
After following for a long time, must be firm and not to be damaged,
用之论命,诚大谬也。
Using it for destiny study, even though sincere can create confusion.

如谓甲为无根死木,乙为有根活木,同是木而分生死,
Like treating Jia wood as dead wood and Yi wood as live wood, even though both are wood but there is a difference between dead and alive.
岂阳木独禀死气,阴木独禀生气乎?
Yang wood is considered as dead Qi, whereas Yin wood is considered as living Qi, why?

又谓活木畏水泛,
Living wood is afraid of floating due to too much water,
死木不畏水泛,
Does not apply to dead wood,
岂活木遇水且漂,
Living wood floats encountering water,
而枯槎遇水反定乎?
In reverse, dried wood encountering water is stabilizing.
论断诸干,如此之类,不一而足,
In analyzing HS, this method of categorising, is not limited to this HS only,
当尽避之,以绝将来之谬。
To defer when reaching the extremity, to extinguish future confusion.

五阳从气不从势,五阴从势无情义。

5 Yangs follow Qi not power, 5 Yins follow power with no sentiment.
原注:Original comment:
五阳得阳之气,即能成乎阳刚之势,不畏财杀之势;
5 Yangs obtained Yang Qi, able to become powerful strong Yang Qi, no worried about the power of Wealth and Killings.
五阴得阴之气,即能成乎阴顺之义,
5 Yins obtained Yin Qi, still can follow the principle of Yin being a follower,
故木盛则从木,
So wood will follow wood,
火盛则从火,
Fire will follow fire,
土盛则从土,
Earth will follow earth,
金盛则从金,
Metal will follow metal,
水盛则从水。
Water will follow water.
于情义之所在者,见其势衰,
Regarding sentiment, observe the strength and weakness,
则忌之矣,盖妇人之情也。
When inauspicious, referred to the sentiment of a married women.
如此,若得气顺理正者,
So even if obtained Qi which indicate the principle of follow,
亦未必从势而忘义,虽从亦必正矣。
Not necessary will forget about the sentiment, even though the principle of follow is the correct one.

任氏曰:Ren Tie Qiao comment:
五阳气避,光亨之象易观;
五阴气翕,包含之蕴难测。
五阳之性刚健,故不畏财煞,而有测隐之心,其处世不苟且;
五阴之性柔顺,故见势忘义,而有鄙吝之心,其处世多骄谄。
是以柔能克制刚,刚不能制克柔也。
大抵趋利忘义之徒,皆阴气之为戾也;豪侠慷慨之人,皆阳气之独钟。
然尚有阳中之阴、阴中之阳,又有阳外阴内、阴外阳内,亦当辨之。
阳中之阴,外仁义而内奸诈;
阴中之阳,外凶险而内仁慈;
阳外阴内者,包藏祸心;
阴外阳内者,秉持直道。
此人品之端邪?
故不可以不辨。
要在气势顺正,四柱五行停匀,庶不偏倚,自无损人利己之心。
凡持身涉世之道,趋避必先知人,故云择其善者而从之,即此意也。

Ji Earth


Ji Earth 己土 

QTBJ 窮通寶鑑 Summary

己土喜用提要

Yin Month     
寅月
取丙解寒,忌见壬水,如水多,须以土为佐。
土多用甲,甲多用庚。
Use Bing fire to warm the coldness, inauspicious to meet Ren water, if water prosperous, must use earth to assist.
Earth prosperous use Jia wood, Jia wood prosperous use Geng metal.

Mao Month   
卯月
用甲忌与己土合化,次用癸水润之。
Use Jia wood but avoid Jia Ji combining and transforming to earth, next use Gui water to moisten.

Chen Month  
辰月
先丙后癸,土暖而,随用甲疏。
First Bing fire next use Gui water, earth warm yet nourish, use Jia wood to loosen the earth.

Si Month      
巳月
调候不能无癸,土不能无丙。
Tuning the qi/temperature can’t be done without Gui water, moist earth must have Bing fire.

Wu Month     
午月
调候不能无癸,土润不能无丙
Tuning the qi/temperature can’t be done without Gui water, moist earth must have Bing fire.

Wei Month    
未月
调候不能无癸,土润不能无丙
Tuning the qi/temperature can’t be done without Gui water, moist earth must have Bing fire.

Shen Month   
申月
丙火温土,癸水润土
七月庚金司令,丙能制金,癸能泄金。
Bing fire warm the earth, Gui water to nourish the earth.
7th month Geng metal in command, Bing fire can control the metal, Gui can diminish the metal.

You Month    
酉月
取辛辅癸
Get Xin metal to assist the Gui.

Xu Month     
戌月
九月土盛,宜甲木疏之,次用丙癸。
The 9th month (Xu month) when earth flourish, appropriate use of Jia wood to loosen/thin the earth, next use Bing fire and Gui water.

Hai Month     
亥月
三冬己土,非丙暖不生。
初冬壬旺,取戊土制之,土多,取甲木疏之。
Three winter (Hai, Zi, Chou) Ji earth, without Bing there is no warmth. Early winter Ren prosperous, use Wu earth to control it, earth prosperous, use Jia wood to loosen it.

Zi Month       
子月
三冬己土,非丙暖不生。
壬水太旺,取戊土制之,土多,取甲木疏之。
Three winter month (Hai, Zi, Chou) Ji earth, without Bing there is no warmth. Ren water too prosperous, get Wu earth to control it, earth prosperous, use Jia wood to loosen it.

Chou Month   
丑月
三冬己土,非丙暖不生。
壬水太旺,取戊土制之,土多,取甲木疏之。
Three winter (Hai, Zi, Chou) Ji earth, without Bing there is no warmth. Ren water too prosperous, get Wu earth to control it, earth prosperous, use Jia wood to loosen it.

己土卑湿,中正蓄藏;
Ji earth the base is moist, centrally stored and hidden,
不愁木盛,不畏水狂;
Not worried about prosperous wood, not scared of abundance water,
火少火晦,金多金乐;
Fire small fire dim, metal many metal happy,
若要物旺,宜助宜帮。
If want the things to be prosperous, must obtained help and assistant.

戊己同为中正之士,
Wu and Ji earth both belong to the earth in the center,
而戊土固重,己土蓄藏,
Wu earth represents hard and heavy, Ji earth represent stored and hidden,
戊土高亢,己土卑湿,此其不同之点也。
Wu earth high and proud, Ji earth low and wet, that’s the difference.
卑湿之土,能培木之根,止水广泛。
Low and wet earth, can nourish the roots of the wood, control excessive water.
见甲则合而有情,故不愁木盛;见水则纳而能蓄。
Meeting Jia and combining creating a relationship, that being the reason for not worry about prosperous wood, meeting water has the ability to act as a store,
此为己土无为之妙用。
Thats the beauty of Ji earth letting things plot their own course,
但欲滋生万牧,则宜丙火去其卑湿之气,戊土助其生长之力,方足以充盛长旺也。
Have the desire to birth all living things, depending on Bing fire to diminish the moisture, Wu earth to assist for growth, sufficient to make it strong and prosperous.

Di Tian Sui

己土卑湿,中正蓄藏。
不愁木盛,不畏水狂。
火少火晦,金多金光。
若要物旺,宜助宜帮。

原注:
己土卑薄软湿,乃戊土枝叶之地,亦主中正而能蓄藏万物。
The base of Ji earth is mild and moist; the place where Wu earth is filled with leaves and branches, the key ability is to grow all living things.
柔土能生木,非木所能克,故不愁木盛;
Gentle earth can grow wood, wood cannot totally control ji earth, as a result not worried about prosperous wood;
土深而能纳水,非水所能荡,故不畏水狂。
When earth is deep it can store water, water cannot sweep earth away easily, as a result not worried about prosperous water.
无根之火,不能生湿土,故火少而火反晦;
Fire without root, not able to grow moist earth, as a result weak fire will be diminished;
湿土能润金气,故金多而金光彩,反清莹可观。
Moist earth can smooth metal Qi, as a result when metal is prosperous and shinny, will become impressive.
此其无为而有为之妙用。
As such it can be useful when not useful.
若要万物充盛长旺,惟土势深固,又得火气暖和方可。
For prosperous growth of all living things, the earth must be strong and deep, especially with the help of fire to create warmth.
