Yang Knife - Yuan Hai Zi Ping

Yang Knife (Ren)《论 阳 刃》

夫阳刃者，号天上之凶星，作人间之恶杀，以禄前一位是也；

For Yang Knife person, it is termed as an inauspicious star, considered a fearful and vicious element in the human world, it is a position in front of Lu Shen.

如甲禄在寅，卯为阳刃。

Jia Lu Shen at Yin, Mao represents the Yang Knife.

喜偏官七杀，喜印綬；

likes 7K, likes resource

忌反吟伏吟，忌魁罡，忌三合。

Dislikes FuYin FanYin, Gui kang, 3 combination.

何谓阳刃？甲丙戊庚壬五阳有刃，乙丁己辛癸五阴无刃，故名阳刃。

Why is it called Yang Knife? Jia, Bing, Wu, Geng, Ren the five Yang HS with Knife, Yi, Ding, Ji, Xin, Gui the five Yin HS without knife, the name Yang Knife.

如命中有刃，不可便言凶，大率与七杀相似。

With Yang Knife in the natal chart, it is not necessary inauspicious, generally it is similar to 7K.

凡有刃者，多主富贵人；却喜偏财七杀。

For those with Yang Knife, mostly rich and noble; auspicious to have Indirect Wealth and 7 Killing.

然，『杀无刃不显，刃无杀不威！』刃杀俱全，非常人有之。

Therefore, ”7K without Knife not prominent, Knife without 7K not powerful!”, with 7K and knife both present, represent an exceptional person.

大要身旺，运行身旺之乡；不要见伤官、刃旺运。

But it is important for the DM to be prosperous, also to be in luck period which supports the self. Not good to meet HO, and during LP when the knife is prosperous.

若命中元有杀刃，岁运又逢之，其祸非常。

For a natal chart with 7K and Yang Knife, meeting again during Luck Period, the disaster is exceptional.

若命有刃无杀，岁运逢杀旺之乡，乃转生而反成厚福；

For a natal chart with Knife but without 7K, during Luck Period when the 7K becomes prosperous, in reverse becomes very fortunate.

如伤官财旺，身弱杀旺，最可忌也。

If the HO and Wealth is prosperous, for a weak DM with prosperous 7K, it is most inauspicious.

如【庚申，己卯，甲寅，x  x 】：

此命甲日见卯为刃，庚为七杀。

Jia DM meeting Mao as the Yang Knife, Geng as the 7K.

其杀本伤身，却藉卯中乙木以配合，其杀有情，则杀不能伤身；

The 7K can hurt the DM, for due to the combination with the Yi inside the Mao, the Killing is considered as affectionate, the 7K in this case will not hurt the DM.

正是甲以乙妹妻庚之义。其身旺南方运，所以为贵。

Considered as Yi being the sister of Jia marrying Geng as the wife. The DM is considered prosperous. During southern luck (Fire), it is considered as noble.
Comment: For Jia DM born in Mao Month which is the Yang Knife. Having Ji Earth in the HS producing the 7K making the 7K very strong especially when the 7K is sitting on Shen. With such a strong 7K having no EG or HO to control, there is always a possibility of the 7K hurting the DM.

But with Yang Knife in the Month EB, it is actually auspicious to have the 7K to control the Yang Knife.

阳刃用之，则赖以制刃，

When the Yang Knife is the useful god (Month Branch), 7K can be used to control the Yang Knife.

不怕伤身，

Not worry about the 7K hurting the self.

故反喜财印、忌制伏也。

It is actually auspicious to have Wealth and Resource to protect the 7K rather than to counter the 7K with EG or HO.

如【戊午，戊午，戊午，甲寅】：

此命刃杀全，而又以午火为印，所以为贵。

This natal chart has both Yang Knife and 7K, also with the presence of Wu fire as the Resource, it is considered a noble chart.

故《喜忌篇》云：『戊日午月，勿作刃看；岁时火多，却为印綬。』

Classics: Wu DM born in Wu month, not considered as Yang Knife: With multiple fire in the Year and Hour, considered as Resource.

如【辛酉，甲午，戊午，甲寅】：

此命杀刃全，而有印綬。

This chart has both 7K and Yang Knife, also with a Resource Structure.

不合年干伤官透出，运行辛卯，犯伤官元有之辰；

Year HS without combination and with HO protruding, during Xin Mao Luck Period, violate Hurting Officer which is also in the natal chart.

壬为财，是壬辰岁凶事投水而死。

Ren being the Wealth, during Ren Chen Annual Period, died due to drowning.

壬水剋火印，时坐甲之七杀，谓之生杀坏印。

The Ren water ke/control the Fire Resource, Jia in the Hour HS as the 7K, the Ren water producing the 7K and damage the Resource.

即此命见辛为伤官，运行辛卯，忌见官；

This chart meeting Xin as the Hurting Officer, during Xin Mao Luck Period, it is inauspicious to meet Officer.

午中丁火为印綬，最忌伤官与财相见，缘水生木剋身也。

The Ding fire inside the Wu as the Resource, most inauspicious to meet HO and Wealth, meeting Water to produce the Wood to hurt the self.

如【癸未，乙卯，甲子，己巳】

岳飞：此命卯刃癸印。

Yue Fei, style name Pengju, was a military general during the era of the Southern Song Dynasty.

This chart with Mao as the Yang Knife and Gui as the Resource.

不合时上己巳破印，运行辛亥，亥卯未合起阳刃；

Without combination in the Hour Pillar, the Ji Si will damage the Resource, during Xin Hai Luck Period, Hai Mao Wei combining with the Yang Knife:

辛酉年，辛金又旺于酉，冲起卯刃二辛，则太过。

During Xin You Year, Xin metal is prosperous due to the You, with two Xin clashing the Mao Yang Knife, becomes too much for the chart to handle.

金多见甲，身虽贵，亦遭刑也；

With multiple metal meeting Jia DM, even though it is noble but it can become a punishment as well.

然虽见辛为贵，所忌阳刃，不可一合一冲也。

Even though Xin is considered noble, it feared Yang Knife, it cannot be one combine and one clash.
