葬书

葬者乘生氣也。

Burial is to ride Sheng Qi.
·       Comment: The purpose of burial is to ride the Sheng Qi.
·       Here the term   Sheng Qi is introduced. Sheng in Chinese means “growing”.  Sheng Qi here would represent healthy Qi which is related to growth.

五氣行乎地中,發而生乎萬物。

The 5 phases of Qi moves through the ground which developed and produced all living beings.
·       Comment: The Qi is categorized into 5 elements; Metal, Wood, Water, Fire & Earth.
·       It is through these 5 elemental Qi which developed and produced all living beings.

人受體于父母,本骸得氣,遺體受蔭。

Human acquire the body from the parents. If the ancestor’s bones obtained the Qi, the descendants will be protected/sheltered.
·       Comment: The relationship between the humans and their parents. In the western world, it is loosely termed as DNA. It is stated in this phrase that the state of the bones of the parents will affect the children.

經曰:氣感而應鬼福及人。

Classic: Qi is affected and respond accordingly; the effect of the spirits is extended to the humans.

是以銅山西崩,靈鍾東應。

When Copper Mountain collapsed in the West, the Bell in the East responded accordingly.
·       Comment: This is to explain the link between the bell where the ores originates from the West Copper Mountain. Even though it is physically detached. Similarly the bones of the ancestors also affect the descendents in a similar manner.

木華于春,栗芽於室。

The tree flourishes during spring, the chestnut sprouts in the hall.
·       Comment: Here the influence of the season is illustrated. The spring has influence on the tree as well as the sprouting of the chestnut.
·       It is hinted here that the strength of the Qi is seasonal. Stronger during spring time. Sheng Qi is related to growth which is strongest in Spring the season of growth.

青囊奥语
San He Formation

坤壬乙, 文曲从头出,
Kun (Shen), Ren (Zi), Yi (Chen), Wen Qu appears from the head,
Shen Zi Chen Water formation.  
Wen Qu here represent  Water
文曲属水,北斗第四星,主科甲星。
北斗四星,五行属癸阴水,是天权伐星。

艮丙辛, 位位是廉
Gen (Yin), Bing (Wu), Xin (Xu), every position represent Lian Zheng,
Yin Wu Xu Fire formation.
Lian Zhen here represents Fire.
貞屬火,又木、水,北斗第五星,化囚,在官祿為祿主,在身命次桃花。
 
巽庚癸, 俱是武曲位,
Xun (Si), Geng (You), Gui (Chou), everyone is Wu Qu location.
Si You Chou Metal formation.
Wu Qu here represents Metal.  
武曲星在阴阳五行中属阴金,在天上为北斗第六星,为财帛宫主星,是财星。

乾甲丁, 贪狼一路行
Qian (Hai), Jia (Mao), Ding (Wei), Tang Lang travelling along the same road.
Hai Mao Wei Wood formation.
Tang Lang here represents Wood.
狼星是北斗第一星,五行,亦水,是一智慧星、好星、桃花星及偏星。木,教化、慈善、宗教之星,亦福之神,也主桃花星,博星,為長壽

Female and male, interact and combine within Xuan Kong,
Male and female, extract the Xuan Kong Gua from within.

Male and Female.
Interact and combine within the Xuan Kong.
How do they interact?
This phrase is just after the verse on the Yang clockwise turning and the Yin anti-clockwise turning of the 12 Chang Sheng Qi phase.
The male/female is also referring to the mountain and the water.
The interaction of the mountain and water within the Xuan Kong.

Male and female.
Extract the Xuan Kong Gua from within.
Why is there a male/female to differentiate?
There are many interpretations by different schools.
It is a very important consideration to be able to practice Feng Shui properly.

The study of Feng Shui.


Are there any dragons involved?


Is it really about wind and water?


 

































How do you know that the information that you have learned are correct?
Why is the study of Feng Shui such a secretive subject?

It is very easy to test the knowledge of Bazi or any astrology theories. Through case studies we would be able to tell ourselves if we really know what we are talking about. Even though there are many who would go around in circles to justify their own knowledge. One of the main reasons for that is the amount of time and money spend on the search for this illusive knowledge. The older and more establish they are, the worst they will be in accepting the real knowledge.

When dealing with Feng Shui, it is even worst. It is very difficult to test the workability. As a result, in my opinion there are really very few who knows what they are talking about. If we look at what is available in the market, what are the theories being taught; I wonder why would people still be looking for Feng Shui Masters to audit their houses or offices.

It is very interesting to note that it is actually written in the classics regarding this matter and why the real Feng Shui knowledge are not to be passed down to just any one.

青囊序

Ching Nan Hsu.

杨公养老看雌雄,天下诸书对不同。
Master Yang grows old observing Ci Xiong (female male). All the books in the world are all different.

二十四山双双起,少有时师通此义。
24 mountains both going together, few present day master understand the meaning.
五行分布二十四,时师化诀何曾记。
5 elements distributed in the 24, when in the past has this been written.
Comment: How many Feng Shui masters can actually explained the meaning of these phrases?
以讹传讹竟不明,所以祸福为胡乱。
Without actually understanding and increasingly distort the truth, as a result the fortune/misfortune remains a random matter.

青囊奥

Ching Nan Ao Yu.

二十四山分五行,
The 24 mountain is divided into 5 elements,
知得荣枯死与生;
Understand when it is prosperous, dried up, dead and alive;
Comment: Again how many Masters can explain?
翻天倒地对不同,
When the heaven and earth are upside down, it cannot be matched,
Comment: When everything is upside down (meaning not having a clue what FS is about), it will not be usable.
其中密秘在元空;
The secret lies within the Yuan Kong;
Comment: What is this secret and where can it be found?
认龙立穴要分明,
Recognize the dragon to establish the Xue point must be clear,
Comment: What is the dragon? Is it a real dragon? The Xue can only be established after recognizing the dragon.

Discussing Eating God


食神者,生我财神之谓也。
Eating God, the one who produce the Wealth god.
如甲属木,丙属火,名盗气,故谓之食神,何也?
Example for Jia which represent wood, Bing which represent fire, named Qi robber, considered Eating God, why?
殊不知丙能生我戊土,甲食丙生戊财,故以此名之也。
Bing is able to produce Wu earth, Jia DM with Eating God Bing produce Wu Wealth, the way the name is derived.
命中带此者,主人财厚食丰、腹量宽宏、肌体肥大、化游自足、有子息,有寿考。
For chart with EG, the DM abundant Wealth and luxuriant food, stomach filled to capacity, fat, travel to one’s satisfaction, children blessing, long life.

恒不喜见官星,忌倒食,恐伤其食神。
Dislike Officer Star, inauspicious to meet Indirect Resource, afraid of damage to the Eating God.  (Indirect Resource ke/control EG)
财神相生,独一位见之,此为福人,然终亦不清。
Likes to have Wealth god to produce, meeting one alone, considered a fortunate person, otherwise it is not pure. (To have only one Wealth.)
却喜身旺,不喜印绶,亦恐伤其食神也。
Likes to be strong, dislike resource, afraid of damage to the Eating God.
如运得地,方可发福,大概与财神相似。
If the luck obtain the ground (during luck period which is supportive) , can obtain fortune, approximately similar to Wealth god.

己未、己巳、丁未、辛丑。
Example














见己为食神,有一丑巳合起金局,得之为财,又喜身不弱,所以有官亦有寿也。
For Ding DM Ji earth represent EG, with one Chou Si combined to metal, obtaining it represent Wealth, like the self to be not weak, so with Officer also represent long life.

乙巳、乙酉、癸酉、乙卯。
Example 














此命三见乙为食,见巳酉丑合金局为印绶,又有三乙化为伤官,癸用乙为食神,被金局来克乙木,再被三乙并卯旺克我官,所以名利都无成也。
This chart has 3 Yi wood which represent EG, with Si You (Chou) metal formation as the resource, further with 3 Yi changed to Hurting Officer, Gui DM uses Yi as Eating God, the Yi wood control/ke by the metal formation, further with the 3 Yi supported by the Mao to become strong to control/ke back the Officer, therefore it represent failure in both fame and fortune.

Comment:

What is Eating God?

EG with 7K:

It is sometimes considered as the god of longevity. Why is that so? It is because it is able to control 7K which can cause hurt to the DM. With a good EG in the natal chart, the arrival of 7K is auspicious. Meaning it is controlled and can be utilized in the chart.

EG with Wealth:

The second function of Eating God is to produce Wealth. Wealth by itself is not an indication of good quality Wealth but with the support EG to produce, it becomes very usable.

EG with Direct Officer:

With a good EG in the natal chart, it is inauspicious to meet Direct Officer. Either in the natal chart or with the arrival of Officer in the luck period. The reason being EG can cause hurt to the Officer and that is not a good thing.
EG with Resource:
EG dislike Resource because the resource can cause damage to the EG which is inauspicious.

EG with support:

It is auspicious for the EG to be supported. For a chart with strong Wealth, it is not so auspicious because the Wealth does not need any more support. But if Wealth is weak in the natal chart, a prosperous EG would be most useful.

Direct Resource Discussion

正印,乃五行之正库,金命见乙丑,木癸未,火甲戌,水土壬辰、丙辰是也。
Direct Resource, the real storehouse of the 5 elements, metal DM meeting Yi Chou (Gold in the Sea), Wood DM meeting Gui Wei (Wood of a Willow Tree), fire DM meeting Jia Xu (Fire of a Volcano), water earth DM meeting Ren Chen (Water form a Big River), Bing Chen (Earth of a Grave).
【金】命【乙丑】(海中金自)
【木】命【癸未】(柳木自)
【火】命【甲戌】(火自)
【水土】命【壬辰】【丙辰】(流水自,沙中土自)是也。
(Comment: the real Resource of the 5 element based on Nayin is using the same element as the HS.)
When looking at the strength of an element, our focus is mostly on the HS, EB and the month commander.
Very seldom we would check the Nayin for the strength or for other EB interaction where Nayin can play a big role.
Example:
Yi Hai “Fire from Volcano” meeting Ren Chen “Water from a Big River”, the water Nayin ke/control the fire Nayin. Normally we would treat Ren Chen as Resource which is supportive of the Yi wood.
Example:
Bing or Ding DM meeting Jia Xu which is "Fire from Volcano". The Jia is a resource for the fire DM but the Jia Xu is a fire Nayin which furthers support the fire DM. Considered as double support.
Example:
Geng Xu meeting Yi Chou "Gold in the Sea", the metal Nayin supporting the Geng metal DM, the Chou punishing the Xu is not ideal. It is like not having any support.
"Gold in the Sea" is the first phase of metal Nayin. It is still very weak and can only provide minimum support.

甲子乙丑何以取象为海中之金?盖气在包藏,有名无形,犹人之在母腹也。
Jia Zi, Yi Chou........................Gold in the Sea
Yin Yang Qi still hidden. Only hear of the name cant see the shape yet. Like still in the womb of the mother.

凡论印,更得真五行与纳音同气,尤妙。
When discussing Resource, with the 5 elements matching the Nayin similar elemental Qi, is the most wonderful.
