Golden Dragon - Direct and In-Direct Spirit.

Golden Dragon according to Liu Fah.

What is the golden dragon?
先看金龙动不动.
Observing the golden dragon whether moving or not.
What is Yang Gong observing?
The golden dragon is the topography. The mountains, the rivers and the in-between spaces.
What is the movement of the golden dragon?
It is the slope of the topography from a higher ground to a lower ground to the river which is the lowest.
龙分两片阴阳取.
The Dragon is divided into two halves to obtain the Yin Yang;
For Liu Fah the derivation of the Yin Yang is based on the Bagua and the Period.
After the Golden Dragon is derived, the method is then used to establish the Zhen Shen (Direct Spirit) and Ling Shen (In-Direct Spirit).

Direct Spirit and In-Direct Spirit.

This is the actual application of the Golden Dragon for Liu Fah.
Checking the external environment to match the Direct and In-Direct Spirit.
Once the Direct and In-Direct Spirit is established based on the Period, the external Ci Xiong such as buildings, open spaces, water elements are checked for conformance with the Direct and In-Direct Spirit location.
Another very important factor is to have the door in the In-Direct spirit location to receive the Qi. Windows are also treated similarly.

The Direct and In-Direct Spirit audit is the first thing to do for Liu Fah Methodology.
The location of the door. In relation to the In-Direct Spirit location.
The element in front of the door. Whether building, water or open space to match the Direct and In-Direct Spirit location for the period.

金龙章 -Golden Dragon Chapter

玄空本义 …… 作者谈养吾
Xuan Kong Ben Yi.

经云:
先看金龙动不动,龙分两片阴阳取,
乾坎艮震为阳一片,巽离坤兑为阴一片,
此八卦方位之两片也。
Classics:
First observe the Golden Dragon whether moving or not;
The Dragon is divided into two halves obtaining the Yin Yang;
Qian, Kan, Gen, Zhen as the Yang on one side,
Xun, Li, Kun, Dui as the Yin on the other side;
The positions of the two halves of the Bagua.

阴一片为山,阳一片为水,此形势之二片也。
Yin one side as mountain, Yang one side as water,
Representing the form being separated into two sides.

金龙者,阳刚之动气也。
Golden dragon, the moving Qi which is Yang and strong.

地之有金龙,犹人之有精神,
The land having Golden Dragon is similar to human having consciousness/vigor/spirit.

故以(乾)之本体形容之,易之乾卦,六画纯阳,均以龙名之者,以阳极于九,而其气最健也。
The reason why the description for the original/form of Qian, being the Qian Gua from I-Ching, six strokes are all Yang, the one with the dragon name, the extreme of Yang being 9, when the Qi is the strongest.

地之气脉亦然,变化莫测,消长靡定,故以龙名之,然其动也。
It is the same for the Qi vein of the land, ever changing, decreasing and increasing never staying fixed, the reason it is named the dragon, which is naturally moving.

必以水之动与山之动,两两相对,精神两全,方合两片,
Must use the movement of the water and the mountain, facing each other, both having the energy (spirit), combining in two pieces,

若相对者,山动而水不动,或山大而水小,或有山而无水,有水而无山,
If both facing each other, movement only for mountain but not for water, or mountain big and water small, or with mountain but without water, with water but without mountain,

两无精神,则两片不分,金龙不动,雌雄不交,阴阳无取,
Without both the energy (spirit), not divided into two pieces, golden dragon has no movement, the Ci Xiong not matching, Yin Yang cannot be obtained,

故以先看金龙动不动,为看地最要之旨,
That’s the reason must observe the golden dragon to see if it is moving, the reason earth observation is the most critical point.

上元一二三四运,取后天乾坎艮震四阳卦为山一片,巽离坤兑四阴卦为水一片,
Upper Yuan 1, 2, 3, 4 period, obtain Late Heaven Qian, Kan, Gen, Zhen as the 4 Yang Gua representing mountain on one side, Xun, Li, Kun, Dui as the Yin Gua representing water on the other side;























下元六七八九运,以乾坎艮震四阳卦为水一片,巽离坤兑四阴卦为山一片,此统而言之也。
Lower Yuan 1, 2, 3, 4 period, obtain Late Heaven Qian, Kan, Gen, Zhen as the 4 Yang Gua representing water on one side, Xun, Li, Kun, Dui as the Yin Gua representing mountain on the other side;

既有山水两片矣,而相见必取相对,不相对则虽相见而不能相交,
That is having mountain and water in two halves, when meeting will also have opposing, without opposing it would be difficult to meet which would be unable to copulate.

故经云:
Classics:
江南龙来江北望,江西龙去望江东,
南与北对,东与西对,
River South in-coming observe from River North;
River West out-going observe from River East;
South opposite North, East opposite West.

故一必对九,二必对八,三必对七,四必对六,
不合十者金龙不望,不望则不交矣,
The reason 1 must face 9, 2 must face 8, 3 must face 7, 4 must face 6;
If not matching 10, the Golden Dragon is not observing, when not observing it will not copulate.
其挨排之法,须分阳奇阴偶,
一三七九为阳,二四六八为阴,
This method of arrangement, divided into odd and even;
1, 3, 7, 9 as Yang, 2, 4, 6, 8 as Yin.

阳顺阴逆,飞布九宫,
Yang clockwise and Yin anti-clockwise, flying in the 9 palaces;
五为当令主宰之神,故其飞布所临之方,即为当运旺气所临之宫,
5 being the God in command, where ever it is located, it represents the palace with the prosperous Qi;
阅蒋公地理录要所载,一运五黄到离宫,故以离宫为旺水!
From the geomancy records of Yang Gong, during period one with 5 yellow arriving at Li palace, the reason Li palace is considered as prosperous water.
即金龙也。
Considered as the Golden Dragon.
次云七运五黄飞布到震,故以震宫为旺水,即金龙也。
Another record showing during period 7 with 5 yellow arriving at Zhen palace, the reason Zhen palace is considered as prosperous water, the Golden Dragon.

阅者不察,洛书九书,不分奇偶,不辨阴阳顺逆,
Those reading without noticing, the Lou Shu 9 book, did not differentiate Odd and Even, not differentiate clockwise and anti-clockwise.
每运均以对宫为旺水,以讹传误,迄今未明,不知蒋公授人以四正奇数之用法,四隅偶数,犹藏而不露也。
Every period using the opposite as prosperous water, is a mistake, until now still unclear, not knowing Yang Gong teaching people using the application of the four direct odd numbers, four indirect even numbers, still hidden and not revealed.

何以知之,其以一运言之,而不言二运,
How to verify? Saying period 1 but not saying period 2;
下文直说下元七运,一与七皆奇数也。
The later passage saying Lower Yuan Period 7, 1 and 7 being odd numbers.

布法相同,若依次直说二运五黄到坤,
The filling in method are similar, following the sequence for period 2, the 5 yellow will be at Kun;
取坤宫为旺水为金龙者,诚其所谓石破天惊,鬼当夜哭矣,
Using Kun palace as the prosperous water as the Golden Dragon, it is earth shattering, even the ghosts will cry at night.

水之金龙,既如上述,而山之金龙作法,
The water as the Golden Dragon, as mentioned above, also mountain as the Golden Dragon methodology;
不外相对两片,曰望者,以对面相望之宫为言也。
It is just about two halves, two opposite palaces facing each other.

阅者当可了然矣,大金龙即大雌雄,
For those observing will understand clearly the big Golden Dragon is big Ci Xiong.

金龙有大而无小,有一而无二,雌雄则大小之分,
There is no size differentiation for Golden Dragon, there is only one and not two, for Ci Xiong there is size (Big Small) differentiation.
每一运有一运之大雌雄,有每一运之小雌雄,大金龙之动不动,只有两卦,其形可见,小雌雄之交不交,计有八卦,无形可见,虽同是日看,而看之中实有不同存焉。
For every period there is a big Ci Xiong, there is also a small Ci Xiong;
Whether the big Golden Dragon moves or not, there are only two Guas, the form is visible;
The copulation of the small Ci Xiong, there are eight Guas, no form visible;
Although both are observing, but in reality the observation is different.

地学有金龙二字,似甚奇特,
Golden Dragon this term used in earth study seems peculiar,
而尤以动为最贵,龙而不动,当然已无生气,而龙之上缀以金字者,以乾为金,六画纯阳,故曰金龙,极言其至刚至动也。
Especially using moving as the most auspicious, when there is no movement, the dragon is considered as not having any living Qi, the upper category of the dragon considered as Golden, Qian is gold, representing 6 Yang lines, named Golden Dragon, regarded as strongest and with movement.
此实有深意存焉,杨公首说看雌雄,看有形之象也。
It has profound meanings, Yang Gong said observing Ci Xiong, which is looking at imagery which has form.

接着就说先看金龙动不动,看无形之气也。
Further saying observing if the Golden Dragon is moving, which is looking at formless Qi.

于此可知地理精义,既见有形之雌雄矣,而立宅安坟,向难取用,
So it can be deduce that to know the real meaning of Geomancy, it is to observe the Ci Xiong with form, to establish the houses and tombs, the facing is hard to utilize.

必更看其龙之或雌或雄,皆有乾乾至刚之如金龙之动气,方可取裁,
Must observe whether the Dragon is male or female, all having Qian, Qian being firm as the moving Qi of the Golden Dragon, only then can be usable.

否则虽有阴阳可分,雌雄可名,若此龙已成衰弱,
If not even though there is Yin Yang to differentiate, the Ci Xiong can be named, if the Dragon has become weak.
犹人之血气已衰,欲望其发育,当然有所难能,
此所以山形水势,其气脉之动不动,必当先看也。
Similarly if the blood Qi of the human is weak, hoping to develop which has its difficulties, this being the form of the mountains and the power of the water, whether its Qi vein is moving or still, must firstly be observed carefully.

龙即气,动即生,皆有气可见,龙之形象,动之体态,虽难描模,而一经指破,人人能辨之,
The Qi of the dragon, considered alive if it has movement, the Qi is visible to the eye, the form of the dragon, the movement reflected in the shape, although the pattern is difficult to trace/describe, but when the secret is revealed, everyone can differentiate it.

全在目力经验上得之,一言以比之,看地犹看人,人之精神与否,衰颓与否,亦即金龙之动不动是也。
It is all in the observation and experience, observing the land is similar to observing human’s spirit/energy, whether it is strong or weak, it is similar when observing the movement of the Golden Dragon.

日先看者,犹人在未婚之前,先看对方也。
Similarly for those before getting married first taking a look at the other party.
倘或男或女,一方有衰弱之象,则虽勉强成婚,而必其无生育之望矣,
Whether for male or female, when one of them is weak, even if forced to get married, it would be difficult to bear a child;
看金龙之义在此,此与前大金龙之作法,又另有一说矣,学者当分别运用之可也。
The meaning of observing Golden Dragon, the application of the big Golden Dragon method, also another method of saying, the student must differentiate the other methodology.

山有山之金龙!水有水之金龙,
The mountains have the mountains Golden Dragon, the water have the water Golden dragon.

各有其生旺至动之气,形之于地面,乃可立穴,
Each of them have their own living prosperous Qi which is moving, the form is reflected on earth, which can be used to establish the Xue.

世人不察,有从洛书九数之当令一星,即名之曰金龙者,
People unknowingly derived from the Lou Shu the One Star in Command and calling it the Golden Dragon.
Comment: The Flying Star school.
如章派一流之颠颠倒,用法全错,与经旨重在先看,字义完全相悖,
Like the Chan School of upside down, the method all wrong, should have emphasized on studying the classics, the meaning are all completely contradictory.
Comment: The Zhang Chong San Flying Star School.

经又云,辰戌丑未叩金龙,动得永不穷,彼曰看,此曰叩,作法又异,叩者候也。
Classics:
“Chen, Xu, Chou, Wei knocking the Golden Dragon, with movement will never be poor”. Here knocking is referring to waiting.
即严凝温厚之分也。
To strictly concentrate on the amount of goodness.
乃接着之意,天地之气,随四时而变易,
Subsequently the meaning, the Qi of Heaven and Earth, following the changes of the 4 seasons;
用其当令之气,与地局立向上下相合者,
Using the Qi in command(season), with the earth formation to establish the facing for the matching of the above and below;
摄而取用之,即所谓叩也。
Making use of it, described as knocking here.

此与候星一法,大同小异,务必推五运,
The method of seasonal star is basically the same, must utilize the 5 period (Yuan);
定六气,排六甲,布八门,
Fixing the 6 Qi, arranging the 6 Jia, filling the 8 doors;

以定作法,太阳为上天至动之气,周流不息,
Using this as the methodology, using the moving heavenly Qi from the sun above, which circulates continuously;

人在地上,立穴立宅,有一定之方,候其时而摄得此气,
Human on the ground, determining the Xue to establish their residence, there is a certain (fixed) direction, waiting for the time to absorb the particular Qi.

天地合一,方可永久生旺,
When the Heaven and Earth combined to be one, the prosperous living energy can last forever.

经日,认金龙,一经一纬义不穷,动不动,直待高人施妙用是也。
Classics: Recognize Golden Dragon, one latitude one longitude the meaning is boundless, moving or still, waiting for sages to utilize.

看其气已属难言,叩其气则更难明矣,看为传眼,叩是传心,详玩之不难分晓矣。
Looking at the Qi is difficult to describe, knocking on the Qi is difficult to understand, looking through the eyes, knocking with the heart (concentration/focus), after comprehensive analysis it is not difficult to understand.

The Theory Of Yin Yang and the importance of the Classics.


The theory of Yin Yang.

There are many masters out there who teaches Feng Shui without touching on the meaning of Yin Yang when doing Feng Shui audit.
The theory of Yin Yang should be the first topic for Feng Shui irrespective of schools.
Without taking out the Lou Pan, the Yin Yang of a place should be the first considerations.
There are some who says it is important to know the Qi of a place before any Feng Shui audit is to be carried out.
To know the Qi of a place it is most important to know the Yin Yang of a place.
Before proceeding to Dragon(mountain), Xue(Spot), Sha(Flat ground), Water(Watermouth) and Facing.
There are some masters who walk the dragon(mountain) without knowing that it is not necessary to have mountain to have Qi movement.
A Taiwan Master told me that Taiwan is a good place due to the mountains and Singapore has no Feng Shui because it has no mountain. It is interesting that Singapore will be the country with the most numbers of Millionaires in the world.
Anyone who knows the theory of Yin Yang would know the meaning of the following from the article:
阴阳相见两为难,
Yin meeting Yang creates difficulty;

Feng Shui Classics:

This article is based on Liu Fah which is not considered a classic.
But the Liu Fah school has a very good understanding of the theory of Yin Yang.
Unlike Flying star. Which is not a Feng Shui school according to many masters.
If we analyzed this using the Feng Shui classics, we should still be able to correlate back to the writings by the original Feng Shui master. This is the reason the classics are so important. If nothing can correlate back to the classics, can it still be considered as Feng Shui.
Like Flying Star written by Jiang Da Hong, a scholar who wrote extensively on Feng Shui. He wrote a lot of books. But does that means what he wrote is correct?
There are also a lot of prolific writers in our modern world. Is there any books out there that any Real Feng Shui Masters would even put their hands on?

Zhang Zhu:

丘壟之骨,岡阜之支,氣之所隨。

The bones (structure) of hills and mountains.  The branches of the ridges and mounds. Represent the way the Qi flows.
Comment: The structure of the topography of the land is a representation of the movement of the Qi.

經曰: 氣乘風則散,界水則止。

Classic: Qi rides the wind and dissipates. The movement of Qi stop upon reaching water.

古人聚之使不散,行之使有止,故謂之風水。

The collection of Sheng Qi by the ancients to prevent it from dissipating. It is moving and stopping it, retaining it to make use of it, is the art of Feng Shui.
Comment: Very clearly describing the flow of Qi as a result of Ci Xiong.

Ching Nan Hsu:

龙分两片阴阳取,
The dragon is divided into two halves, Yin and Yang,
Comment: How is the dragon divided? It is as simple as that. Again describing the observation of Ci Xiong.

Ching Nan Ao Yu.

雌与雄,交会合元空,
雄与雌,元空卦内推.
Female and male, interact and combined with Xuan Kong,
Male and female, extract the Xuan Kong Gua from within.
Comment: Also here in XKBY.
颠颠倒,二十四山有珠宝;
顺逆行,二十四山有火坑.
Top turned upside down, treasures to be found in the 24 mountains,
Forward, backward, fire pits to be found in the 24 mountains.
Comment: This is also a very important Yin Yang analysis based on Ci Xiong.

The Use of Yin Yang.

The three methods described by 林老  under 第二章  雌雄与阴阳动静 is quite a good description to observe Yin Yang.
But it is not giving any clues on how to use Yin Yang.
阴阳相见两为难,
Yin meeting Yang creates difficulty;

雌雄章 - Ci Xiong Chapter

作者谈养吾 - 玄空本义叙

阴阳分而言之曰雌雄者,言其形,非言其气也。
Ci-Xiong which also refers to Yin Yang, represent form not represent Qi.

上下有无形之阴阳互相往来,
Upper and lower with formless Yin Yang mutually arriving.
而后有有形之雌雄互相交媾,
Later with Ci Xiong which has form mutually copulating,
天气下降,地气上升,此大雌雄之交媾也。
Heaven Qi descending, earth Qi ascending, the copulation of the big Ci-Xiong.

山静水动,山峙水流,此形体上之交媾也。
Mountain still and water move, mountain store, water flow, the copulation of the form.

大小强弱,雌雄之形,
Big small strong weak, the form of Ci Xiong.
动静刚柔,雌雄之情,
Movement, stillness, firm, gentle, the emotion of Ci Xiong,
大小不相符,动静不相配,
Big and small not in harmony, movement and stillness not matching,
则雌是雌而雄是雄,
Ci is Xiong and Xiong is Ci,
虽有其名,而无交媾之实矣,
Even though it is referring to Ci Xiong, but it does not copulate,
相地务必有外气行形之雌雄,
The landform must have the external appearance of Ci Xiong,
而后有内气止生之生气,
Furthermore with growing Qi in the inner still Qi.
外气交,内自合,
Copulating in the external Qi, combining internally,
此所谓看雌雄也。
Thus termed as observing Ci Xiong.

而雌雄有大小之分,
Ci Xiong is differentiated into big and small,
作法中每运有一大雌雄,
Every period has a big Ci Xiong,
谓之父母卦,
Called parent Gua,
为每运之正向,其力大,
Representing the proper facing of every period, it is considered as powerful.

经云:
Classics:
雌与雄交会合玄空,
Ci and Xiong copulation together with Xuan Kong,
此指山水有形之雌雄而言,
Referring to mountain/water Ci Xiong which has form.

又云:
雄与雌玄空卦内推,
Deriving Ci and Xiong from the Gua of Xuan Kong,
此指阴阳二气,
Referring to Yin and Yang,
无形之雌雄而言,
The Ci Xiong which is formless.

经又云:
阴阳相见两为难,
Yin meeting Yang creates difficulty;
一山一水何足言,
One mountain one water how to be sufficient;
玩此则雌雄之义,
Playing with this meaning of Ci Xiong;
明白晓畅矣。
To understand clearly.

雌雄者,阴阳动静对待之称,
Ci Xiong, the term used to refer to the movement and stillness of Yin and Yang,
以言乎体,则一动一静,一山一水,一实一空,即雌雄也。
Referring to the object, one move one still, one mountain one water, one solid one void, this is Ci Xiong.

以言乎用,则乾坤震巽坎离艮兑,
Through the use of Qian, Kun, Zhen, Xun, Kan, Li, Gen and Dui.
自然之气感,自然之交合,即雌雄也。
The natural feeling of Qi, the natural copulation, which is Ci Xiong.

杨公养老看雌雄者,看有形之山水,与辨无形之阴阳也。
Yang Gong grow old observing Ci Xiong, looking at mountains and water ways which are with form, to derive the formless Yin Yang.

有形之山水动静,原本诸无形之阴阳二气,杨公不云相阴阳,而曰看雌雄者,乃有形之往来,即无形之交合也。
The movement and stillness of mountain/water which represent objects with form, originally referring to formless Yin Yang. Yang Gong did not referred to it as Yin Yang, but as observing Ci Xiong, noting the arrival of object with form, to analyze the matching/combination of the formless.

所以阴阳无不配,雌雄无不合,
Therefore Yin Yang will always match, Ci Xiong will always combine,
不配与不合,即谓之相乘
Not matching and not combining, referring to riding each other;
见夫某方有多大之高山实地,
Seeing the husband’s direction with how big or high mountains,
Comment: To check which is the side with high mountains and which is the lower ground:
其对面一方,亦必取其多大之水道低地以配之,
The opposite direction, must obtain the water ways to match accordingly.
观其形之相配,既出于自然,
Observing the matching of the form, derived from the natural environment,
知其气之交合,亦出于毫不勉强
Knowing the matching/combination of the Qi, the resultant no need to force,
此中奥窍,全凭作者以目力足力斟酌定之,
The key to this mysterious point, all depend on the author’s visual power to deliberate and determine,
所以相地有龙穴砂水向
Therefore the location of Dragon(mountain), Xue(The spot), Sa(Flatland), Water and Facing,
五大要素之分辨,
The five essential factors to differentiate,
奥语有十大真意之辨别,
Au Yu classics differentiate it into ten different categories,
避其偏而就其正,
Avoid the incorrect to establish the true one.

经云:
前后八尺不宜杂,
Within 8 Chinese feet at the front and at the back, it is not suitable to mix;
Comment: What is not suitable to mix? This is referring to Yin Yang.
斜正受来阴阳取,
Receiving from the direct or indirect to obtain the Yin Yang;
Comment: What is 斜正 direct or indirect?
八尺者极言其小也。
Within 8 feet is actually a small distance.
Comment: It is important to analyze the Yin Yang of the front and back within a short distant. Not something very far away.

外气即合,其八尺之所,
The combination of external Qi, within 8 Chinese “foot”,
阴阳无不配,雌雄无不交,
Yin Yang will always match, Ci Xiong will always copulate,
此为不易之理,惟其行之方向,
This represents the unchanging theory, the direction of this art,
与夫无形之消长,有合时失时之别耳,
With the husband going up and down without form, there are times when it is matching and other times when it is not matching.
Comment: This is an important concept from Liu Fah. From the Xuan Kong school which is based on time. (Period)

元有上下,运有八卦,
Yuan is divided into upper and lower, the Period into 8 Gua,
其气运既不同,其物质之感受,
The period Qi are different, the affect on the objects,
当然亦随之而变易,
Will naturally follow the changes,
此所以峦头有合情与否,
So in Luan Tao (landform) there is the notion of whether it is with affection,
理气有合时与否之分也。
In Li Qi there is the notion of whether it is timely or untimely.

世人不知雌雄有无形与有形之真旨,
Human do not understand the purpose of Ci Xiong with form and without form.
徒从罗经上红黑字分为阴阳,
The disciple obtaining Yin Yang from the Red and Black in a Lou Pan (compass).
又从掌诀上分为顺逆,
Also deriving from the palm the going forward or in reverse,
即以为看雌雄者,颠倒是非,真伪莫辨,
Thinking that is the way to observe Ci Xiong, reversing what is right and wrong, not able to differentiate between true and false,
莫怪后之研究地学者,盲无适从也。
Do not blame the future earth study disciple, blindly following the method.

第二章  雌雄与阴阳动静

Ci Xiong and Yin Yang – “movement and stillness”.
第一节  有形者称为雌雄
With form is referred to as Ci Xiong. (Female-Male)

雌雄其陰陽的另外一種稱呼方式,其差在於,陰陽是用稱無形之,而雌雄是指有形有的物
In fact Ci Xiong is another reference for Yin Yang. The difference is Yin Yang is referring to formless matter whereas Ci Xiong is referring to something with form.

談養吾「玄空本」中:「雌雄者,言其形,非言其也。」
Master Tang mentioned in Xuan Kong Ben Yi: “Ci Xiong, referring to form, not referring to Qi.”
:「以言乎,一山一水,一一空,即雌雄也。」
Also says: “Ci Xiong is referring to body/object, one moving one still, one mountain, one water, one solid one void.
老看雌雄者,看有形之山水,形之陰陽也。」
Yang Gong grow old observing Ci Xiong, looking at mountains and water ways which are with form, to derive the formless Yin Yang.

所以雌雄是指有形之物,看先要能分辨出何是雌,何是雄。
Therefore Ci Xiong is referring to object which has form, the art of feng shui is to differentiate which is Ci-male and which is Xiong-female.

Method 1.

而雌雄又可以分成方面看,一是在大自然的境中,有崇山峻,又有江河溪的情水就代表雌雄。
Ci Xiong can be analyzed in a few different ways. One method is derived from the natural environment. From mountain ranges and water ways (streams and rivers). Mountains and rivers representing Ci Xiong.
山是的,所以屬陰屬雌,水是的,所以屬陽屬雄。
Mountains are considered as still and quiet, so they represent Yin-Ci-Female.
Rivers are considered as moving, so they represent Yang-Xiong-Male. 






 

 

 

 

Method 2.

第二是位於都市城之中,平洋之地,有高山崗嶺,江河溪流也不多,反而是建比,道路縱橫人往,馬龍
Second method to analyze Ci Xion in an urban environment, in a flat area, where there are no mountain ranges, also with no streams/rivers nearby, where it is mostly occupied by manmade buildings and structures, intersections of roads and highways, intersperse by humans, circulation of vehicles.
代人大多是身 這樣境之中。
This is the environment for modern societies.
在都市中既然江河,要如何分辨雌雄呢?
In an environment with no mountains ranges and water ways, how to differentiate Ci Xiong?
是以建物比擬為山,以街道巷弄比擬為河流,建物是固定不的,是的,是的, 所以屬陰屬雌。
It is through the use of buildings as mountains, streets and alleyways as rivers, buildings are considered as still, solid and quiet, therefore they represent Yin-Ci-female.
街道人來頻繁,帶動氣流流為動氣之所,所以屬陽屬雄。
Streets with vehicles and pedestrians movement, dispersing the Qi through movement, therefore they represent Yang-Xiong-male.
基本上城市住宅看重的是大、路口等動氣之所,是否位於水之旺方,且令住宅得旺
In an urban residence, the most important consideration is the door and the road intersections, the source of moving Qi. Whether it is located correctly in the prosperous water direction, allowing the residence to obtain the prosperous Qi.
所以談養解天元五歌時說:「宅立向,在城市全以向主。」
Master Tang referring to “Heaven Cycle 5 songs”: “Facing for Yang residence, in urban setting the facing is the main criteria.”
:「宅之出入,或空曠處,即為動處,此看法,作水用,之流動則一也。」
Also says: “The entrances for Yang dwellings or empty external spaces are considered as spaces with movement. When analyzing such spaces, they represent water, spaces with Qi movement.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Method 3.

第三況則是住宅室雌雄動靜區別
The third method to analyze Ci Xiong is the differentiation between movement and stillness in internal spaces.
基本上就是「空」」的區別實處可以把它作山看待,空處則視為水。
The fundamental consideration is regarding “solid” and “void”. Solid to represent mountain and void to represent water.
延伸看,凡是櫥櫃書櫃 桌椅、 高大的器物所在之 或是封的角落、 滿物品的地方、 人不常走不常經過所, 都可視為屬靜屬陰屬雌。
The following items:- cabinets, bookcases, tables and chairs, spaces occupied by tall objects, corners which are sealed/closed, spaces with lots of objects, spaces with very little human activities – can all represent Yin-Ci-female.
而大、房、走道、梯、梯等人們經 常走的地 或是窗之、空的地方等等比流流通性比好的地方,視為屬動屬陽屬雄。
The following items:- main door, room doors, staircase, lift, spaces with frequent human activities, window openings, empty spaces, spaces with good movement of Qi – can all represent Yang-Xiong-male.
